Eye-Openers. Perfect your practice one week at a time.

Eye-Opener 8:

The Care Isn’t Over Even if the Procedure is.

Alcon(R)

Your technical skills are sharp. Your post-op skills should be too. Because patients spend a great deal of time considering the procedure, it’s a big step when they give the go-ahead. Thank them for it. Give a little back. That little extra after surgery helps them feel good about themselves and your practice.

Update on Financing Options:
Last week we discussed the importance of offering flexible payment options. Since then, we have heard a lot of news about the Credit Card Act and the new guidelines in place to protect consumers. While it is still important to offer patients flexible options for paying for procedures, we encourage you to act in accordance with the Credit Card Act.

Become a gift-giver.
Whether its movie tickets, sunglasses or a post-op goody bag with medications, give a gift to patients after surgery. It’s a small thing that makes a big impression.

Check in with patients.
Call your patient the day after the procedure. Ask how they feel. By showing you care, patients will show their appreciation with referrals to friends and family.

Happy Anniversary!
A year has passed. Send your patient a card to commemorate the day. Mention new procedures and technology. Add how much you appreciate being of service and welcome the opportunity to serve their family and friends.

Your patient is your top priority. Never skimp on care before, during or after surgery.

Next week — promotion pays off.
